Webinar - Cross-sectoral partnerships for integrating services for children and youth: Reaching for the SSCY

Please note: Eastern Time Zone.

Take a virtual tour of the amazing and beautiful new Specialized Services for Children and Youth (SSCY) Centre, an integrated health and social service centre for children and youth with disabilities, which opened in Winnipeg in July 2016.

Explore the community engagement process that was used to ensure that families, staff and partner voices were brought to the table resulting in features such as a concierge, a waterfall, palm trees, gesturetek systems, 3D printer and carver, disco digital x-ray, water tables, teepees and more. Follow the 20 year journey of families, seven partner agencies and 3 government departments using a change management perspective to identify critical success factors in the movement from a fragmented and confusing service delivery system to a unified and integrated service for clients and families.

Uncover the tools that were used to facilitate the integration process such as the development of a common vision, the use of an inter-sectoral planning group, development of a central intake, shared electronic medical records, use of single case coordinators, co-located inter-agency multidisciplinary teams and shared site management. Conclude your virtual tour with outcomes to date, future evaluation and next steps.
